Gayla recently decided to leave her job at Fletcher Allen to work for a private nuclear medical technology company. Elizabeth graduated from Wake Forest as a physican assistant in 2005. She has since been working at a Massachusetts hospital in anesthesiology/pain management. She married Michael Marks in October 2005. Elizabeth, Denise, and Sarah were bridesmaids in Gayla’s wedding; and Denise, Gayla and Sarah were bridesmaids in Elizabeth’s wedding later that year. It was a very busy summer! Denise graduated last May from Iowa State University with her degree in veterinary medicine. The day before she was to graduate Dave Kurtz, her significant other since our sophomore year at UVM, asked if she would marry him. Denise and Dave are in the process of moving from Iowa to Penn Yan, New York. Denise has accepted a job in a veterinary practice that serves both large farm animals as well as smaller animals. She is very excited to be working for a dual practice; since participating in UVM CREAM, she has had a soft spot in her heart for cows.  Lastly, as for me, I became engaged to Jason Godin ’01 last Christmas. We have been dating since my sophomore year at UVM and are so excited to be getting married. We are living in Boston and planning a summer 2008 wedding.

Friends and former teachers of Courtney Blasius are rallying in support of our classmate, who has been hospitalized since suffering a cardiac arrest on September 12. Through a new website and a number of future events, the Support for Courtney Foundation hopes to raise funds to defray the considerable cost of her treatment and therapy. Courtney has made tremendous strides in her recovery after spending three weeks in intensive care at Fletcher Allen Medical Center. Since then, she has been a patient at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston and Crotched Mountain Rehab center in New Hampshire, where she continues to make progress. To learn more about the effort and Courtney’s on-going recovery, see supportforcourtney.com. Donations to “Support for Courtney” may also be sent directly to Chittenden Bank, Dudley H. Davis Center, University of Vermont, 590 Main Street, Burlington, VT 05402.
