Hello all! Next year at this time we will have just finished our 20th Reunion! Hard to believe how fast time flies! Kristen Murphy Luzi shared that she gathered with Kendall Manzo McAuley, Erin McCallum Fitzgibbons, Kristen Myers Disen, Sara Welch, Jen Robinson Smith, and Elissa Levy for a girl’s weekend in April. Leslie Potter Kaltenbach and her husband welcomed their third child, son Mathis James, on August 27, 2008. They also have two daughters, Charlotte, 5, and Sophie, 3. They reside in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey. Leslie is assistant vice president & assistant counsel in the Office of General Counsel for the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies located in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey. Laura Chevalier wrote that she and husband, Tim, often see Keith and Susan (Foster ’91)Wadehul as well as Kathy Lorenzetti Morse. As a matter of fact, Kathy is their son Ryan’s godmother! They also keep in touch with various fourth- floor Mills friends from ’90 and ’91. Amy Conway-Hatcher is still working as a lawyer in Washington, D.C. She left the U.S. Attorney’s Office in 2000 and has been working at a law firm in the corporate investigations and white collar practice since then. She married Sid Hatcher (Class of ‘84, US Naval Academy) in September 2005. Olivia Kathleen was born in May 2007 and Jack Dennis was born on January 6, 2009. They live in Alexandria, Virginia and Hollywood, Maryland (close to where Sid works in Southern Maryland as a helicopter test pilot; he retired from the Navy after twenty-one years but still works on Navy programs as a contractor). She saw Nancy Beckerman last summer. She and Jeff ’88 are doing very well. They still live in Massachusetts and are very busy with their four beautiful kids. Jeff has his own law practice now. Amy has also been in touch with Lauren (Morando) ’88 and Chris Rhim ’88. They moved recently from Bethesda, Maryland, to New Hampshire (near Dartmouth). Chris started his own financial advisory firm and travels frequently between their new home and Washington, D.C. Roommates Lauren Wendelowski, Karen Kelly Majeski, Lauren Zifchak Gorecki, Wendy Miller Eggen, and Jenn Hardy Backer had a “reunion” this summer in Wendy’s home state of Colorado. They spent a long weekend in Breckenridge hiking, whitewater rafting, and reminiscing about the great times at UVM. Lauren Wendelowski has traveled the world but now lives in Los Angeles and manages a large residential complex. Karen Kelly Majeski lives in Westfield, New Jersey, has five kids, and tutors part-time. Lauren Gorecki lives in Marlton, New Jersey, is a senior manager at Liberty Mutual, and has a six-year-old son and a stepson who is a sophomore in college. Wendy Miller Eggen lives in Centennial, Colorado, and is expecting her fourth child in March (she has twin three-year-old girls and a two-year-old son). She also does part-time editorial work. Jenn Hardy Backer lives in Michigan, has two kids, and is a freelance editor. They’re looking forward to the 20th reunion next year!

Hello and thank you to those who sent me emails of their updated tidbits and news—keep ‘em coming! I heard from Mike Gilbert. He and his wife Tammimarie (Hathaway) ’92 are both math teachers at Essex High School, just outside of Burlington. They were married in 2005 and have since been blessed with two little boys. The eldest is Elijah, who is two years old, and Wyatt, born in September of 2008. The Gilbert family happily resides in the town of Jericho, Vermont. Alfredo Nino recently relocated to Phoenix ,Arizona, where he is a breast radiologist and medical director for the Laura Dreier Breast Center at the Good Samaritan Medical Center. Glenn M. Cademartori and his wife Kirsten celebrated the birth of their son Matteo on August 11, 2008, joining big sister Francesca, who is now four and a half. Glenn has a marketing consultancy for the gaming, sports & entertainment industries, which took him from New York City and Sweden to Latin America two years ago. He is the president of the Latin American Poker Tour, which airs on ESPN Latin America. He and his family moved to South America last year, but his wife and kids have since moved back to New Jersey, while he lives and commutes from Costa Rica. He is closing in on one million OnePass miles! According to Glenn: “Living in third world countries has been quite a humbling and life-changing experience. I plan to write a book.” Glenn is returning home to New Jersey in May and has applied to be on Survivor this coming summer. (No way, that is so cool!). Glenn keeps in touch with Jefferson Mercier, Rob Cioffi, Matt Glass, Bill Steinman, Tim Sullivan ’90, and several others on Facebook. Glenn also plans to get back to visiting UVM on a regular basis. “Pura Vida!” I also received a nice email from Brian Sanderson (a.k.a. “Dirt”). This is the first time Brian has contacted the UVM mag to let people know of his status. (Thanks, Brian!) He is married; his beautiful wife’s name is Jody (they met on a blind date in Ft. Collins, Colorado, in 1999). They will be celebrating their eighth wedding anniversary in August. They have a son, Elijah Oakley, 8, and a daughter Molly Jane, 6. Brian is the road commissioner for the town of Proctor, Vermont, (where the Sandersons also live) and his wife is a full-time mother and student, working to get a teaching degree in another year or two from Castleton State College. Brian would love it if anyone from our class, or others, want to contact him. This is a direct quote: “My UVM experience rocked.......look forward to hearing from fellow classmates and long-lost friends.” Keep the news coming!

Wendy Burt-Thomas wrote that her third book, The Writer’s Digest Guide to Query Letters comes out this December. She is a full-time freelance writer and editor and lives in Colorado Springs, Colorado with her husband, daughter Gracie, 3, and son Ben, 1. In 2003, she ran a half marathon. For the last five years, she has cycled across Maine for the Trek Across Maine, benefiting the American Lung Association of Maine. She plans to do it again this year, if there are any other alumni out there who might be doing it too. She lives and works in South Portland, Maine and in her free time, loves biking with her cycling club. Occasionally, she sees fellow classmate Kelley Vermette Champagne.

Hopefully we all got a chance to reconnect with old friends at our fifteen-year reunion in early June. Thank you for coming to those of you who made it. It was great to see everyone and, of course, get to see and hear Belizbeha again. Another thank you goes out to the Class of 1994 grads who helped organize the reunion, Narric Rome, Jon Bennis, Wendy Goldman Bishop, Hileary Hunt Cleary, Rob Cronin, Donna Cusimano, Jon Davidson, Artie Ettinger, Matt Fogt, Amy Glynn, Ted Hildner, Beth McDermott, Jeff McNulty, Ramola Gupta Musante, Abby Atkinson O’Brien, Andrea Cutbush Stewart, Jay Wilcoxson, Matt Wilk and Kathryn Sellig Williams. Since everyone has been so busy with their summer plans, our class notes are short but sweet this time around. Bonnie Kittredge Morrissey had twins, Max and Lexi on June 12, 2008. They join big sister, Sydney, 4. Bonnie keeps busy staying at home with the kids and also works part time as a personal trainer. Congratulations Bonnie and happy one year birthday to Max and Lexi. Your old friends from UVM would love to hear what you’re up to.

Scott was also promoted to an account director in February at Forrester Research in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he has been working for the past seven years. Shayna and he have been following the UVM basketball team closely this year and were hoping to see them in the NCAA Tournament again. Too bad it wasn’t their year. He lives on Cape Cod with his wife and two daughters. On May 13, 2006, he married Elizabeth Anderson. Daniel Griffith shared this “My wife has been on bedrest as we patiently await the arrival of our second child. If everything works out, my daughter Elizabeth will have a little brother named Jackson on 3/17/09, St. Patrick’s Day!! We are very excited as Jessie has been on bedrest since Thanksgiving.” Matt Benjamin welcomed his son, Everett, to the world on Feb. 18, 2009. Bruce Adam and his wife, Lee, are expecting and can’t wait until they can move the whole family back to Vermont! Douglas Bisio is launching two new hedge funds, one focusing on high yield debt and the other in matching short-term loans to distressed companies. Tim Abrahamsen was recently engaged to his longtime friend, Ingrid; they plan to wed in summer 2010. Marie Schowalter married Jon Schnell at Devil’s Thumb Ranch in Winterpark, Colorado, in December 2008. UVMers in attendance included Shannon Kelly, Mitzi (Johnson) Fowler, Beth Macomber Kapadia, Jenna Malone, Kelly Becker, Mary Byrne ’98 and myself. It was a wonderful event with beautiful views and an exquisite bride.

Hello ’03! First and foremost, I’d like to say thank you to Jillian Giardina, who has stepped down from her position as class secretary after keeping us updated on six years’ worth of engagements, marriages, births, promotions, travel, and countless other adventures. We’ve certainly all been busy since we left UVM, and Jill has done a great job keeping us connected since graduation. I’ll be taking over as Class Secretary and look forward to hearing about all of the fabulous milestones in store for the Class of 2003! As for this issue we have much to report: Bryan Carnahan completed the Chamonix (Argentière)–Zermatt Haute Route ski tour in the Alps this spring and is spending at least a part of this summer recovering from surgery on a knee that was injured last August while skiing off-piste near Nevados de Chillan, Chile. Aron Stephens wrote to say that she and her significant other have purchased a home in Portland, Oregon, where Aron is working at Multnomah County Health Department. She writes: “It’s hard to believe I have been here for five-and-a-half years. I miss Vermont every day.” She reports that Maren Spitz, Meredith Shield, Adam Oransky, and Sara DeFransesco are also in the Portland area. Caitlin Eastman writes that she is living in San Francisco, and enjoys the occasional game of croquet (who doesn’t?). Sarah Carter wrote to announce the engagement of Jenny Chop to Shawn Burnell. They will be married on September 26, 2009, at Sugarloaf Mountain in Carrabassett Valley, Maine. Caitlin Hadley Unger reports that Molly Gleason is getting married in Maine this September to Adam Webster ’00. Molly and Adam met at another UVM wedding—that of Courtney Keefe Benevides ’02 and Chris Benevides ’00, who were married in September of 2007. Diana Carlino and Andrew Coffey will be married this September in Killington, VT. UVMers in the bridal party will include Nicole DiMario and Ryan Foley. Diana will graduate from Pace University School of Law in May, and Andrew is working in corporate finance in Wilton, Connecticut. They are living in Greenwich, Connecticut. Nicole is living in Boulder, Colorado, and completing her master’s degree at UC Denver. Ryan is living in Baltimore, Maryland and has been working in sports marketing. By the time you read this, Liz Moran will be married to Shane Hamel and enjoying life as a newlywed! Liz and Shane live in North Andover, Massachusetts, and were married on July 18, 2009, in Ipswich, Massachusetts. Tiffany Hayes Romaniello married Jerry Romaniello on April 11, 2008, in Connecticut. Jenny Agnew Ridley and Becky Daley ’04 were in attendance at the festivities. Sarah Herring Kneale married Chris Kneale last September in Burlington. I had the honor of being one of Sarah’s bridesmaids alongside UVMers Kelly Brown Cerrone ’04, Dena Kostka ’04, Heather Hutchinson, and maid of honor extraordinaire, Megan Makowsky ’04. It was a gorgeous weekend and an even better celebration! Speaking of Ms. Makowsky, she and Mike Weand are living in Seabrook, New Hampshire, and busy planning their August 2009 wedding in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. And as if Mike’s engagement wasn’t news enough, Brad Ross is also off the market—sorry ladies! Brad proposed to Karen Chicoine ’02 in April, and while I’ve promised Brad that I would spare everyone the details of the proposal, Brad paraphrased the moment by saying, “It was super duper romantic and vaguely resembled the cover of a romance novel.” Mere days after their engagement, Brad and Karen purchased their first home in Belmont, Massachusetts. Congratulations to all of you! I hope everyone is having a great summer and don’t forget to keep me posted on your latest adventures!

Here is what a few of our classmates have been up to: Congratulations to Kara Egasti and Chad Dooley, who are engaged to be married this summer in Vermont. Many fellow UVMers are going to be in attendance and a great time will be had by all. Claudia Capizzi wanted to let us know that she is in her third year of working towards her Psy.D. in clinical psychology at Pacific University with fellow UVM alum Talya Steinberg. We incorrectly reported some news from Tim Silman in our last column. Our apologies. The correct update on Tim is that he received a master’s degree from Georgetown University in 2006 and has been working at Mathematica Policy Research. Charlie Chubet ’03 and Kelly Tubman were married on April 18, 2009, in Larchmont, New York.
