As 2,620 new students and families rolled onto campus August 28 — wagons and mini-vans stuffed with clothes and microwaves, books and snowboards — they found some 600 UVM students, staff and faculty waiting to greet them. The UVM Welcome Crew has grown into a tradition at the university with everyone from math professors to the ski team coach to the UVM Dance Team stepping up on move-in day to help make light work of heavy loads.
