If you are arriving in Burlington early, here are a few recommended events and attractions to check out:



Shelburne Farms Tour and Luncheon
Thursday, June 4, 10:15 am-4:30 pm

Climb aboard the UVM Catamounts Bus for a comfortable ride south to Shelburne Farms, one of Vermont's most beautiful tourist attractions.  Join Marshall Webb  on a guided tour of the 1,400-acre working farm, National Historic Landmark and nonprofit environmental education center organization. First stop is the magnificent Farm Barn to tour the education center where many of the partnerships with the University of Vermont, including the PLACE Program, will be highlighted. Guests will then have the opportunity to view the making of and taste Shelburne Farms award-winning Farmhouse Cheddar. Lunch at the Inn will feature products from the farm's market garden and will be followed by a tour of the public rooms at the Inn and the gardens overlooking Lake Champlain. Please sign up early as space is limited. Our UVM Shuttle Bus is limited to 38 riders, above this number you will need to provide your own transporation. Please arrive at University Heights South Lobby by 10:15 am. The bus will depart at 10:35 a.m. (This event is not included in the Reunion Weekend package price.)

Jazz at the Davis Center
Thursday, June 4, 6:00 pm-10:00 pm

Davis Center Olin Atrium, Mansfield Room and Grand Maple Ballroom
Enjoy a collective of instrumental and vocal jazz performances by UVM faculty members with acclaimed trumpeter Ray Vega.  Additional jazz performances and presentations by faculty, alumni and students will be sprinkled throughout the Davis Center.  Ticket price includes light hors d'ouevres.  Additional refreshments will be available for purchase at the Davis Center Marketplace



Shelburne Vineyard Tour and Wine Tasting

Come tour our new state of the art winery and walk through our vineyards.  The Tour includes a tasting of our crrently available wines as well as a guided tour of our winemaking facility and grounds. Intro to Salsa Dancing

Get warmed up for an evening of Latin salsa. Join us for this introductory salsa dance class led by Vika, instructor of salsa and other dance classes offered in the Burlington area.  Latin DJ Dance Party to follow at 8:30 pm featuring Hector Cobeo '72. Dress comfortably. All ages welcome.

ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center

Come experience over 60 species of fish, amphibians, invertebrates and reptiles, 100 hands-on exhibits, major traveling exhibitions, and daily live animal feedings and demonstrations. Explore the region's ecology, culture, history, and opportunities for stewardship. The 2.2-acre site also features the Lake Champlain Navy Memorial, as well as an eclectic gift shop and cafe. ECHO is located at the Leahy center for Lake Champlain on the Burlington Waterfront. Open year-round, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. - closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve & Day, and most Mondays in winter. Explore Burlington and the waterfront by bicycle or inline skates! Shelburne Museum

Visit Shelburne Museum, one of the nation's finest, most diverse, and unconventional museums of art and Americana. Over 150,000 works are exhibited in a remarkable setting of 39 exhibition buildings. Impressionist paintings, folk art, quilts and textiles, decorative arts, furniture, American paintings, and a dazzling array of 17th- to 20th-century artifacts are on view. Shelburne is home to the finest museum collections of 19th-century American folk art, quilts, 19th- and 20th-century decoys, and carriages.
