Fish Tank Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where will the honor roll of donors be printed?

A: Donors of at least $20.07 will have their names printed in the Folklore Senior Memory Book, and their names will also appear on the interactive donor wall in the new student center.

Q: How will we know what the fish tank will look like?

A: We are continuing ongoing conversations with the planners of the Davis Center, and are working to figure out the best location and design for the tank.  We will keep you posted as we learn more, so please watch your e-mail.  The size and scope of the project also depends on how much money we can raise.

Q: $30,000 seems like a lot of money for a fish tank - will it really cost that much?

A: Quite a bit of the funds will go towards ensuring that the tank can be maintained over the long haul.  Since it is a more "active" gift, as opposed to something static, like a statue, there are upkeep issues to consider over time.  We need a good cushion of funds to ensure longevity of the tank.  We are raising funds for a nice plaque to go along with the tank, as well.

Q: Can I make my gift online?

A: Yes - you can visit us at alumni.uvm.edu/2007 and follow the link that says "Donate to the Gift Here."  Please make sure to select "Class of 2007 Commemorative Gift Fund" from the list of options.

Q: I am not even going to be here when the Davis Center opens - why should I care about the tank?

A: Keep in mind that the Senior Class Gift is a gift from our class to the University.  We may be gone, but our legacy will always be a part of campus.  Plus, this makes for a good reason to come back and visit!
