History of the Student Ambassador Program
The Student Ambassador program was started by President Judith Ramaley in the Fall of 1997. President Ramaley was interested in selecting a group of students who could help her host events on campus and travel with her around the state to talk about their UVM experiences with legislators and constituents. The six original members included: Antwaine Jenkins '98, Heather Schniepp '99, C. Chad Argotsinger '99, Sarah Pitlak '99, Matthew Bloomer '00, and Jennifer Ellis '00. Today the program has twenty members who continue to help host events sponsored by the President, including Convocation, Commencement, and Homecoming Weekend, and attend functions hosted by senior administrators, admissions, and alumni. They also have opportunities to travel around the state to talk with prospective students and alumni.
