Alumni Achievement Award Recipients - 2003
Robert Rosenthal '70, the recipient of numerous journalistic awards and honors, is managing editor of the San Francisco Chronicle. During his career in journalism, Robert has worked for many eminent publications. As executive editor and editor of the Philadelphia Inquirer, he guided the paper to 17 Pulitzer Prizes. At the New York Times, he was editorial assistant for the Pulitzer Prize-winning Pentagon Papers project.
Michele Forman G'83, National Teacher of the Year in 2001, is the first teacher from Vermont to receive the highest honor in her profession and the first to achieve National Board Certification in Adolescent and Young Adulthood for Social Studies and History. A social studies teacher at Middlebury Union High School, Michele is committed to bringing out the best in every student, helping them to address the issues of our time and giving each the opportunity to achieve.
