The UVM Alumni Association announces the launch of our 2013-2014 Alumni Directory Project. Over the next several months, Publishing Concepts, Inc. (PCI), our partner on the project, will be contacting alumni from UVM via mail, email, and a very few phone calls to request that you update your information.
Our 2004 directory had an excellent response from our alumni, but it's now been almost 10 years since UVM last gathered information for a directory and much in our world and yours has changed in that time. The information that you provide will be valuable to us because it will enable us to stay in touch with you more effectively and efficiently.
There's also a benefit to you! The directory will be a valuable resource of up to date information for you providing you with up-to-date information on classmates, friends, and associates. The directory will also represent your information as accurately as possible.
We hope that you will support this effort and participate in this important project by providing PCI with your information. We also understand that you might not want to provide your information to just anyone, so we want you to know that their (PCI) request for information is legitimate.

1. I received an email/postcard/phone call from a company asking for my personal information. They said they were working on a directory for the University of Vermont. Is this a legitimate project, or is it a scam?
We have partnered with PCI (Publishing Concepts) to produce our new alumni directory which includes alumni from all of UVM’s Schools and Colleges. PCI is located in Dallas, Texas, and publishes directories for educational institutions, fraternities, sororities, and military organizations across the nation. This project allows the UVM Alumni Association to receive important updates to our database so we know more about our alumni and how we can better serve them.
2. How do I know my information will only be used for directory purposes?
The University of Vermont has a contractual agreement with PCI that states:
a. The names, addresses and information provided to PCI by the University of Vermont for the publication of the Directory will be held confidential by PCI, except to the extent that they are utilized in, or in the preparation of, the Directory and except as required by court order or law.
b. The Directory will be made available only to UVM alumni listed in the Directory. Upon completion of the project, PCI will return to the University of Vermont any and all electronic files that have been supplied by the University of Vermont or produced by PCI in connection with the production of the Directory.
3. I would like to verify and update my information. How may I do this?
If you have received a postcard or an email with a telephone number, you may call the number to speak with a dedicated representative for the University of Vermont project. The representative will verify all the information we have on file for you and make any updates where needed.
If you have received an email with an embedded link, you may go to the online site to review your information. If you have questions, you may call PCI’s customer service desk at 800-395-4724.
4. Can anyone purchase a directory?
The University of Vermont Alumni Directory is available for sale only to UVM alumni.
5. When will I receive my directory?
The total duration of the directory project is about 12 months. Since we began the project in January 2013, the directories will be distributed in January of 2014.
6. I ordered a package containing the Companion Airline Voucher, but I haven’t received the postcard requesting verification of my address.

7. Can I choose some or all of my information not to be printed in the directory?
When you call to update your information, you can tell the representative what information you would prefer to have excluded. You may also communicate this information to the PCI customer service desk (800-395-4724), the UVM Alumni Office (888-458-8691), or the UVM College of Medicine (802-656-4014).
8. I ordered a directory/package over the phone and would like to cancel my order. How do I do this?
