The Alumni Association encourages all graduates of The University of Vermont to remain actively involved with their university. The Board of Directors, the governing body of the Alumni Association, serves as a vital link between UVM and its alumni. Through this connection, UVM alumni no matter where they live are able to maintain strong ties to their alma mater.

Kristina M. Pisanelli '97, President
Washington, D.C.

Kristina is Vice President of Federal and State Government Affairs for Chrysler Group LLC. She joined the company in 2011, following with legal work in the public policy and political law arenas for the DC area law firms of Patton Boggs LLP, Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, and Crowell & Moring LLP.

Kristina's service at the University began as a student, where she was Vice President of the Senior Class Council. She served a number of leadership roles in the DC region, including two years as chair of the DC Regional Board.

Kristina graduated Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude, from the University of Vermont in 1997 with a dual degree in political science and history. In 2005, she earned a JD, cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center. Kristina currently lives in Washington, D.C.

Penrose Jackson '70, Vice President
Hinesburg, Vt.

Penrose is the Director of Community Health Improvement at Fletcher Allen Health Care, where her work impacts the health of thousands in the communities it serves. Penrose has held numerous positions with health organizations including, the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont and the Vermont Health Foundation (VHF).

Penrose's community commitment is extensive with service to more than a dozen community organizations over three decades, including serving as the first Executive Director of the Church Street Marketplace. She currently serves as the Vice President of the Alumni Association Board of Directors. She has previously served as a member of the Vermont Regional Board and has led the Alumni Awards committee to recognize the highest honors given by the Alumni Association.

Penrose earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from UVM in 1970, participated in UVM's Masters' degree program in American history, and attended the John Marshall Law School in Chicago. She currently lives in Hinesburg, Vt. with her husband, Schuyler, and dog, Zim.

Ted Madden '92, Immediate Past President
Wellesley Hills, Mass.

Ted is a Senior Vice President at Fidelity Investments in Boston, working in Fidelity's Workplace Investing business. Ted has worked at Fidelity Investments since 2002 and prior to that practiced law in Boston for the law firm of Rich May, PC.

Ted has served in a variety in a variety of volunteer roles for UVM, including serving on the Alumni Association Board since 2006 and as President from 2010-2013. Ted is currently leading campaign efforts to complete the renovation of 61 Summit Street as the new UVM Alumni House.

Ted earned a Bachelor of Arts from UVM in 1992 and is a 1996 graduate of Boston College Law School. Ted currently lives in Wellesley, Massachusetts with his wife Amy, a 1991 UVM graduate, and their four children.

Afi Ahmadi '93
Essex Junction, Vt.

Afi is a partner at the law firm of Dinse, Knapp & McAndrew, P.C., located in Burlington, Vt., where he concentrates on corporate organization, financial services, lending regulation, and commercial transactions.

Afi, a former student trustee, has served as a member of the Vermont Regional Board, chair of the young alumni activities committee, as an alumni representative on the UVM Athletic Advisory Board, as a reunion volunteer, and currently serves as chair of the UVM Alumni Association Board's Awards Committee and sits on the Victory Club Advisory Board.

Afi earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from UVM in 1993 and is a 1997 graduate from both Boston University School of Law and Graduate School of Management, earning a J.D./M.B.A. Afi currently lives in Essex Junction, Vt., with his wife Amanda, a 1992 UVM graduate, and their two children.

Rosario Arias '87
Williston, Vt.

Rosario works as a Senior Application Software Engineer at GE Healthcare in South Burlington, Vt., developing optimized healthcare software solutions to lower the total cost of ownership for the GE Healthcare Centricity Business product line.

Since 2012, Rosario is a member of UVM President Sullivan's Advisory Council and of the UVM Alumni Association Board of Directors. She is an active member of the Mater Christi School Marketing and Enrollment Committee and the GE Women's Network.

Rosario earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the UVM in 1987. Originally from Honduras, she currently lives in Williston, Vt., with her husband, a 1990 UVM graduate, and their two children.

Scott Baldwin '76
Burlington, Vt.

Scott is the President of VT Brokerage Services in Burlington, VT with 15 years experience in insurance and employee benefits. Scott is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), a member of the Burlington International Rotary Club, a Registered Representative, and a retired Lieutenant Colonel of the Vermont Air National Guard.

Scott has been involved with and supported many of the University's alumni programs. He has been an active volunteer with the Alumni Career Network, the Business School Alumni Network, the Athletics Committee, the Admissions Office, the Catamount Mentor program and is currently the Chair of the Member Services Committee.

Scott earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing & Business Administration from the University of Vermont in 1976. Scott currently lives in Burlington, Vt., with his wife Kate, a 1978 UVM graduate. They have two children, the youngest who is currently a student at UVM.

Eric Burt '80
Sherborn, Mass.

Eric is the Managing Director of Investments with the Burt Financial Group of Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC in Wellesley, Mass.

A UVM volunteer for over 2 decades, Eric served with the Boston Regional Board, including two years as the chair and currently chairs the Athletic subcommittee of the Board, focusing on connecting alumni to the University through athletics, including a successful mentorship program. Eric also serves on the boards of WGBH Boston, the Dover Sherborn Education fund.

Eric earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from UVM in 1980. He currently lives in Sherborn, Mass., with his wife Susan, a 1992 UVM graduate, and his 3 children.

Hannah DeCelles '16
North Smithfield, R.I.

Hannah is in her last year at UVM, in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. After four years as a Student Alumni Association member, she is the Vice President and Director of Campus Events within the SAA. She works in the community at the Pillsbury Senior Communities and the YMCA, and is an avid skier and ice hockey player.

John K. Evans '77
Charlotte, Vt.

John is President and CEO of VITL Inc. (Vermont Information Technology Leaders). VITL develops and operates the health information exchange (HIE) for Vermont. John has provided leadership for statewide HIE initiatives in Arkansas, Kansas, Michigan, and New Hampshire, as well as regional HIE projects in New York and northern Michigan.

Prior to his involvement in HIE, John held numerous executive roles with leading hospitals and health care systems in the U.S. He has served as a member of the Vermont Regional Board and currently leads the Association's career initiatives by serving as chair of the Career Services Subcommittee.

John, a retired US Army officer, earned his bachelor's degree from UVM in 1977, and his master's degree in health administration from Baylor University in 1985. There are six UVM graduates in his family and John currently resides in Charlotte, Vt. with his wife, Ellen.

Martin Horner '81
New York, Ny.

Martin is an International Director at Jones Lang Lasalle, where he focuses on tenant representation in New York City. He brings 30 years of industry experience to his clients providing strategic planning and transaction management services, with a concentration in the media tech, insurance, financial services and legal industries.

Martin has been active in CoreNet, (Chairman, Marketing Committee, BCCR Exam Committee) and The Urban Land Institute (Small Scale Development Council, Corporate Real Estate Council). He currently serves as Chairman of the New York Regional Board and is on the Advisory Board of the Student Leadership Project.

Martin earned a Bachelor of Arts from UVM in 1981 and his J.D. from New York Law School in 1984. He currently lives in New York City with his wife Anne.

Michelle Pinter Howe '87
Cos Cob, CT

Michelle is an avid volunteer with experience in many areas. She is currently managing the school store and serving on two capital campaign committees at her boys' school, King Low Heywood Thomas in Stamford, CT. Michelle is also a sustaining member of the Junior League of Greenwich, CT. Prior to that, Michelle was the Manager of Lillian August, a home furnishings store in Greenwich from 1994-1995. She was the Merchandising Manager for Ellen Tracy, a women's clothing manufacturer in NYC from 1988-1994. From 1987-1988 she attended the Macy's training program.

Michelle earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Vermont in 1987. Michelle is currently living in Cos Cob, Connecticut with her husband Ed, a 1987 UVM graduate and their two boys.

Lisa Jacobson '92
Chevy Chase, Md.

Lisa Jacobson serves as the President of the Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE) in Washington, DC where she manages the day-to-day operations of the organization. She has advised states and federal policymakers on energy, tax, air quality and climate change issues. She serves as a private sector observer to the World Bank’s Climate Investment Fund and is a member of the Department of Energy’s State Energy Efficiency steering committee.

Lisa has been a member of the Washington DC Regional Board since 2008, serving as a Vice Chair from 2013 to 2014 and currently serves as the Board Chair. She has served on the Reunion Committee, volunteered at Career Networking events and attended UVM events in DC and in Vermont.

Lisa received a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Vermont in 1992 and a Masters in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 1997. Lisa lives in Chevy Chase, Maryland with her husband and two daughters.

Stewart Jensen '90
Shelburne, Vt.

Stew is the VP-Strategy who leads the business development and client services effort for Propeller Media Works, a boutique website design and marketing firm located in Burlington, Vt. For 10 years, he has enjoyed helping clients identify opportunities to align company/organizational objectives with their online strategy to achieve measurable results.

Stew's active work in the Advertising field, led him from positions in Burlington to roles in Boston where he was the strategic lead for the largest independent Ad Agency in New England. He currently serves as Chairman of the Vermont Regional Board and is member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Burlington YMCA.

Stew earned a Bachelor of Science degree from UVM in 1990 with a focus on Recreation Management. He met his wonderful wife Lisa Paulsen Jensen (BA 89 / MPA 96) at UVM and they were married in the Ira Allen Chapel. They reside in Shelburne, Vt. with their two young boys.

Guadalupe Martinez '02
Austin, Texas

Guadalupe is a technical sourcer at Facebook's Boston Engineering office, where she enjoys recruiting passionate software engineers interested in making the world more connected and open. Prior to joining Facebook, she worked as a mission-driven fundraising professional focused on implementing innovative fundraising and marketing campaigns for nonprofits and their diverse constituencies in the greater Boston area.

Guadalupe, a USDA Multicultural Scholar, earned a Bachelor of Science in Recreation Management from UVM in 2002 and a Master of Business Administration from Brandeis University. She served as a member of the Rubenstein School Board of Advisors from 1999-2002, Student Ambassador from 2001-2002, and actively continues to champion UVM as a volunteer.

Guadalupe currently resides in Brookline, Mass. When not working, she can be found volunteering, exploring the outdoors, long distance running, and rock climbing.

Jeffrey McNulty '94
San Francisco, Calif.

Jeff is a Regional Business Manager for Global Sales & Marketing with Thomson Reuters Financial in San Francisco, CA.

Jeff has served in a variety of volunteer roles for UVM, including serving on the Alumni Association Board since 2009. He has helped with admissions events, career events and past reunions. He is an active participant with the Affinity program has been instrumental in the recent launch of the San Francisco Chapter.

Jeff earned a Bachelor of Science with the School of Business Administration from UVM in 1994. He and his wife Lindsay currently live in San Francisco, California with their new baby daughter.

Khalil Munir '74
Silver Spring, MD

Since 2014 Khalil has worked with the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) promoting criminal justice policy between federal and District entities, specializing in matters related to juvenile justice and emergency preparedness. From 2011 to 2014, he worked in governmental and congressional affairs, advocacy, and organizational training for non-profit, governmental, and corporate clients. During his previous 23 years of congressional service, he worked for six members of Congress and served as the Executive Director for an advocacy organization founded to support the needs of marginalized economic, minority and social communities throughout the U.S. He has experience with narcotics prevention, detection, intervention, and education matters; funding of federal budget priorities or appropriations spending; domestic and international matters related to commerce and justice, homeland security, education, transportation, health, and international funding for projects and priorities managed by USAID and the State Department. His work with the Treasury Department included program management, organizational reviews, management analyses, and criminal investigations.

Khalil Munir attended the University of Vermont on a basketball scholarship and graduated in 1974 with a degree in economics. He attended the University of Rhode Island and earned an M.P.A. degree. Nominated and selected as a presidential fellow in 1978, he embarked upon a varied career in public service until his retirement in 2011.

Khalil is the father of two children Najiy, an electrical engineer, and graduate of Howard University, and Jendayi, a 2015 graduate from the University of Pittsburgh, with a degree in French. Hel has traveled to 23 countries and frequently uses his Arabic and Spanish language skills whenever possible or necessary. Khalil is an avid golfer and enjoys preparing different international cuisines.

Carroll “Bud” Ockert '57
Shelburne, Vt.

Bud is a retired US Army Colonel. During his 30 year career he served in numerous assignments and Command Positions; Deputy Commander for Administration in five US Army Hospitals in the United States, Germany and Viet Nam; Management Analyst, Office of the Surgeon General, Department of the Army in Washington, DC; Executive Officer, Command Surgeon, US Army Southern Command in Panama Canal Zone; and Inspector General, 7th Medical Command, US Army Europe.

For his service he was awarded the Legion of Merit; Bronze Star Medal; Meritorious Service Medal with four oak leaf clusters; US Army Achievement Medal; US Army Commendation Medal; and a host of other decorations and campaign and theater medals. He is also a Life Fellow, The American College of Health Care of Executives.

Bud earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from UVM 1957 and received his Master's degree in Hospital Administration from Baylor University in 1968. He currently lives in Shelburne, Vt. with his wife Jenny.

Alice Plante
Mountain Lakes, N.J.

Alice is a current student at UVM, planning to graduate in May with a degree in Public Communications and Chinese. Alice is the President of the Student Alumni Association and has been a member since her second semester freshman year. She has been a member of the SAA marketing committee, the Outing Club, the Ski and Snowboard Club and other student organizations. She is part of a large UVM legacy, sharing her Catamount pride with both parents, two siblings, an aunt and uncle and grandparents.

Brendan “Mike” Reardon '89
Natick, Mass.

Mike is the Director of the Consultant Relations Group of the Americas Institutional business at Russell Investments. He serves as a liaison to institutional consultants for large US pension plans, endowments and foundations and represents Russell's OCIO platform, manager research, investment management and implementation management services.

Mike is currently a Trustee on the Natick Retirement Board which oversees the $100 million Public Pension Fund for the Town of Natick, Mass. and has actively served on the Boston Regional Board, including two years are board chair.

Mike received his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from UVM in 1989 and his M.S.F. from the Wallace E. Carroll Graduate School of Management at Boston College. He lives in Natick with his wife Staci and two teenage sons.

Alan Ryea '90
Milton, Vt.

Alan is an Associate Vice President at the University of Vermont Foundation and currently leads staff and program efforts of the UVM Alumni Association. He oversees a team of six professionals and a volunteer network of more than 200 alumni, students, and friends tasked with fostering lifelong relationships with alumni and the University.

Alan has worked for more than 20 years in higher education and has extensive experience in annual giving, alumni relations, communications, and donor relations/stewardship activities. He is a passionate advocate for UVM and is an avid college basketball fan.

Alan earned a Bachelor of Science of Business Administration from UVM in 1990 currently lives in Milton, Vt. with his wife, Sarily, and their two children, Samantha and Christopher.

Myron Sopher ‘74
Charlotte, Vt.

Myron is a Managing Partner of Sopher Investment Management, Inc. He is responsible for client portfolios, strategic partnerships, asset allocations for complex family portfolios, non-profits and retirement accounts. Myron has held Executive positions with Burlington Industries, NYC; American Hospital Supply Corporation, Chicago; Herman Miller, Inc., Zeeland, MI; and Computer Aided Planning, Grand Rapids, MI.

He is currently the Chairperson for Northern Reliability, Waitsfield, a member of the Vermont CFA Society Board of Directors, a Chairperson for the Vermont Council on Economic Education, and a member of the North Country Angel group. Since 2010, Myron has been an active member of the Vermont Regional Alumni Association Board, serving on the Career Services Committee. Myron has also held several past board memberships at the Burlington Y, Howard Center for Human Services, and the New England Federal Credit Union.

Myron graduated from the University of Vermont in 1974 from the College of Arts and Sciences. Myron lives in Charlotte with his wife Lenore, is a member of the Lake Champlain Yacht Club, skis at Stowe, enjoys boating, biking and swimming.

Linda H. Sparks '64
Burlington, Vt.

Linda Sparks is a Senior Associate with Lang McLaughry Real Estate located in South Burlington,Vt. She has actively practiced real estate in and around Chittenden County since 1971, specializing in unique Town and Country properties and Lakeshore homes.

Linda is the former Chair of the Burlington Waterfront Board and, in addition to the UVM Alumni Association Board, she currently is an active member and former board member of the Burlington Business Association and is on the Regional Affairs Committee for the Lake Champlain Chamber of Commerce.

Linda received Bachelor of Arts from UVM in 1964 and has strong legacy connections in her family including two daughters, Lauren '87 and Jennifer '89, who graduated from UVM. She lives in Burlington and enjoys attending UVM Hockey and Basketball games, sailing, travel and time with her grandchildren.

Joseph Thomas '08
Seattle, Wash.

Joseph is currently a law student at Seattle University. Previously he worked as policy intern for the ACLU where he conducted research on the issues of racial equality in law enforcement and restorative justice in middle schools. He also assisted with research on the Washington State Voting Rights Act.

Joseph served as a legislative staff assistant and intern coordinator for the United States Senate in Washington D.C. for over four years. During this time he joined the Washington DC Regional Board and continued his engagement with UVM he started as a student, where he served as an Orientation leader.

Joseph earned a Bachelor of Arts from UVM in 2008 with majors in Spanish and Political Science. He is currently studying law at Seattle University School of Law and resides in Seattle, Washington.

Cathy Tremblay
Essex Junction, Vt.

Cathy Tremblay is a Radiologic Technologist at the University of Vermont Medical Center. Having earned her degree from UVM in 1985, she has served as an inpatient technologist in Diagnostic Radiology for thirty years. She is a member of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, and the American Society of Radiologic Technologists. Cathy has previously worked as a Clinical Instructor for Champlain College and continues to train current radiography students.

She is proud to be a UVM parent of a 2015 graduate of the College of Education and Social Services. Cathy is a mentor in the Catamount Mentor program, offering student-athletes valuable insight during their time at UVM and helping guide their transition to life after college. She also supports UVM as a volunteer with Admission and Career Service events. Cathy formerly served on the Vermont Regional Board of the UVM Alumni Association, and in 2015 served on her 30th Reunion Committee.

Cathy lives in Essex, Vermont with her husband Tom, and together they manage a successful consulting business. They are the proud parents of two daughters. Cathy enjoys supporting UVM athletics, and traveling with her family.

Katherine (Kate) Nobile Ullucci ’00
Norfolk, Mass.

After graduating from UVM, Kate began a career in banking and completed her MBA at Bryant University. She spent several years working in secondary mortgage and fixed income for Citizens Bank and Bank of American Merrill Lynch before accepting her current position at Wells Fargo. Kate is currently a Vice President of Wells Fargo Asset Management in Boston.

After serving on the Boston Alumni Association Board since 2010, and as the Vice Chair since 2013, Kate has recently become the Boston Regional Chair.

Kate grew up in central Massachusetts and now lives in Norfolk, Mass. with her husband Jake, their daughter, Caroline, and their two cats, Sneaks and Emmitt. She enjoys traveling as a family, golf, tennis and sewing.

Antoine Williams '92
Shelburne, Vt.

Antoine is the Founder and Owner of Antoine Williams & Associates Financial Services, in Shelburne, Vt. He is a wealth manager, financial planner and certified divorce financial analyst. He also advises clients through transitions due to death, divorce, inheritance and retirement to ensure monetary decisions are aligned with their values and goals.

Antoine graduated from UVM in 1992, with a Bachelors of Science degree from the Business School. At UVM, he was the Vice President of his Senior Class, a member of the Boulder Society, the nation's oldest university honor society, and upon graduation was awarded the Kidder Medal, which is awarded to the outstanding senior male in character, leadership and academics.

Antoine lives in Shelburne, Vermont with his wife Michelle and their two sons Matias and Ezra. Antoine loves spending time with his family and training for and participating in Triathlons.

Anuradha Yadav '96
Boston, Mass.

Anu is a Vice President and Counsel at State Street Bank and Trust Company in Boston, where she advises the bank's broker dealer division. Anu has worked as a corporate attorney in Boston and Atlanta, where her practice focused on venture capital financings, private equity deals, mergers/acquisitions, corporate finance and securities law compliance.

Anu, a former student trustee, leads the affinity program expansion for UVM Alumni Association board and is Co-Chair of the The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) Social Entrepreneurship Group in Boston. She also advises pro bono and social entrepreneur clients on corporate governance issues.

Anu graduated Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude, from the University of Vermont in 1996 with a dual major in English and History. In 2003, she earned a JD, with honors, from the University of Connecticut. Anu currently lives in Boston, Mass.
